Hi Drix - thanks for asking about this! For now, the EWEB/Triad deal is still very much up in the air. Most basically, since Triad is now asking EWEB (very prematurely by any measure except their very own interests) for a strict purchase agreement, rather than the conceptual agreement to negotiate, that will need to go back to the EWEB board for yet another vote. We "just" need one more EWEB commissioner to switch sides, to stand up for ratepayers over speculators, and then that premature agreement could be voted down 3 to 2.
And the estimated total costs for putting Triad on the downtown riverfront are continuing to skyrocket to two or three or more times the price offered by Triad. David Hinkley has been pulling together those numbers.
The EWEB board of commissioners doesn't make it easy to communicate with them. The only combined access I know of, for now, is the web comment form linked from this page:

But if you care about either the downtown riverfront, or your electric rates, it is worth getting to know them. These five people hold the keys for now:

On the PeaceHealth project discussed below, at their Tuesday hearing the Springfield Planning Commission held the record open for seven days for additional written comments. So comments on that one can also still be sent in, to:Colin Stephens, cstephens@ci.springfield.or.us
Best wishes,
